Quick recap

Sixth-grader Ricky Beamer is the favorite target of four older kids. After one mess too many, editor Tasha kicks him off the school paper. For revenge, he sneaks in and plants a message inviting creeps to call her after midnight. But Tasha swapped her number for his. Soon the calls start. The four bullies turn out to be Creeps, purple lizard-like creatures, and they think Ricky is their commander. They want to put seeds in the food to transform the whole school. Ricky tries to sabotage the plan, but his friend Iris shows up posing as the commander's assistant and suggests hiding the seeds in bake-sale cookies. Anyone who eats one becomes Ricky's slave. He tells everyone to eat up, and has one himself.
