Quick recap
Eight years after Prelude, Seldon is trying to turn psychohistory into a real tool. Demerzel steps down as First Minister and Seldon takes the job. A coup kills Cleon I and puts a military junta in power; Seldon resigns and goes back to his research. Over the years he loses his wife, Dors, his adopted son, Raych, and his colleague Yugo Amaryl. What remains is his granddaughter Wanda, who has an unusual mental gift. With her, Seldon quietly starts a project that will matter to the plan. Now old, he watches the Empire sink and sets things up to go on without him.
