Quick recap

The year 12,020 of the Galactic Era. Young mathematician Hari Seldon presents an idea on Trantor: predicting the future with psychohistory. Emperor Cleon I wants to use it, and First Minister Eto Demerzel wants to get his hands on Seldon. Journalist Chetter Hummin hides him at Streeling University, where he meets the historian Dors Venabili. The two flee through Trantor's sectors: Mycogen, where Seldon looks for a robot in the temple; Dahl, where he adopts the street kid Raych; and Wye, whose mayor, Rashelle, tries a coup that fails. In the end, Seldon learns that Hummin and Demerzel are the same person: the robot R. Daneel Olivaw, who wants psychohistory to protect humanity.
