Quick recap

That same summer, Kendra joins the Knights of the Dawn and heads with Warren to Lost Mesa in Arizona to recover an artifact. Several Knights die, and she learns Patton Burgess already hid it at Fablehaven. Back home, a plague turns light creatures dark. The brownies overrun the house, and the grandparents, Warren, Dale, Tanu and Coulter become shadows only Seth can see. Seth finds the Chronometer and brings Patton forward from the past for three days. The culprit is Ephira, a fallen hamadryad allied with the demon Kurisock. The Fairy Queen makes a stone that can stop the plague. Lena, who became human again for Patton, sacrifices herself to destroy Kurisock, Ephira and the plague. At the end, Dougan confirms the Sphinx is a traitor.
