Quick recap

Five friends take Mia to a cabin to help her quit heroin. In the cellar they find a strange book, and Eric reads from it aloud. An evil force possesses Mia, then the others, and the group learns the demon needs five souls to rise. Each attempt to save her costs more blood. It's a sequel disguised as a remake, brutal and nearly free of digital effects, trading humor for pure dread. Anyone who knows the classic will recognize every corner of the cabin.
