What changed in the movie

  1. Behind the scenesThe trilogy that became a cycle

Paolini planned three books. Halfway through the third, he saw the story would top 2,000 pages and split it in two. He announced it in October 2007.

  2. ReferenceFire in Old Norse

"Brisingr" comes from Old Norse and means "fire." It was the first ancient-language word Eragon learned, so Paolini picked it for the title.
