Quick recap

After the Tournament of Power, Goku and Vegeta join the Galactic Patrol as recruits. The job is to catch Moro, a sorcerer millions of years old who drains the energy of whole planets and has just broken out of prison. In their first fight, on New Namek, Moro drains their energy, beats them and uses the local Dragon Balls to free other prisoners. Goku trains with Merus, a mysterious patrolman, to master Ultra Instinct, and Vegeta heads to planet Yardrat to learn new techniques. Moro's gang heads to Earth, where they take on Goku's friends. He even fuses with the planet. Goku and Vegeta return stronger, and Goku, with Ultra Instinct mastered, defeats Moro. The case is closed, and Earth gets a short breather.

Trivia

  1. Behind the scenesA completely new work

When the Super anime ended in 2018, the manga kept going with its own stories. Toyotarou billed this arc as "a completely new work that hasn't been animated," made tag-teaming with Toriyama. Moro debuts in chapter 43, from December 2018.

  2. Behind the scenesGoat and grim reaper

Toyotarou wanted Moro to be pure evil, never a future ally. The design pairs a goat, the Western devil motif, with grim reaper clothes.

  3. Behind the scenesPutty horns

Moro's curled horns were hard to draw. Unable to find good goat references, Toyotarou sculpted a horn out of putty to work from.
