Lorraine Warren

The clairvoyant who sees what others can't

Lorraine is a medium and clairvoyant. With her husband, Ed, she investigates hauntings and possessions and lectures about the cases. Her gift helps families, but it shows her things she'd rather not see, and the fear of losing Ed follows her into every case.

The Conjuring

The Perron house

In 1971, Lorraine is still shaken by a recent exorcism. She takes the Perron case anyway. In the house, she senses the witch Bathsheba and sees what happened there.

When Carolyn Perron is possessed, Lorraine is the one who reaches her, reminding her of a happy day at the beach with her girls. Carolyn comes back and the girls are saved. Lorraine heads home relieved to find their daughter, Judy, safe.

A night away from home

The Conjuring 2

The demon's name

At Amityville, Lorraine sees a demonic nun and Ed dead. She asks to stop. Even so, the couple goes to Enfield, in London, to help the Hodgson family.

Lorraine is the one who sees the trick: a demon is using old Bill's spirit. During a vision, she had written its name in her Bible without realizing. At the house, she speaks the name, Valak, and casts it out. Ed survives, and the vision that made her want to quit doesn't come true.

Against the Occultist

With Ed recovering from a heart attack, Lorraine uses her gift to trace a curse. In a trance, she connects with the victims and with whoever cast it.

At the end, the Occultist makes Ed attack her. Lorraine brings him back by reminding him of the day they met. Once the altar is smashed, the curse ends, and Arne's case goes to trial.

The Conjuring: Last Rites

The last case

In 1964, pregnant, Lorraine nearly loses Judy in a birth tied to a cursed mirror. By 1986, she and Ed want out. Their grown daughter has visions just like hers.

When the same mirror strikes again, now at the Smurl family, Lorraine fights alongside Ed and Judy. The case ends the couple's field work, and Lorraine watches her daughter marry Tony. Faces from old cases turn up at the wedding, like a farewell to everything the couple went through.
