Quick recap

Photographer Leon Kaufman hears from a gallery owner that his work plays it safe. He heads into the subway late at night, saves a woman from an assault and, when she vanishes, starts digging into a string of disappearances. The suspect is Mahogany, a butcher in a suit. The cops won't listen, and Leon's obsession pushes away his girlfriend Maya. She finds timetables logging more than a hundred years of subway killings. Leon boards armed, fights Mahogany and kills him. The train pulls into an abandoned station full of bones, where creatures feed. The conductor explains they lived under the city before the subway, tears out Leon's tongue, kills Maya and tells him he's the butcher now.
