Quick recap

Diana dies in a carriage accident, and Stephen rejoins Jack's squadron at Madeira. Napoleon has retaken Paris, and the orders are to guard a convoy against Moorish galleys and destroy ships being built for him in the Adriatic. Stephen uncovers a plan to send gold through Algiers to pay mercenaries who would keep the Russian army from joining the allies. In Algiers, Stephen saves the Dey from a lioness and gets his word that the gold won't leave from there. But the gold sails from Arzila on a fast xebec under the corsair Murad Reis. The squadron waits at Tarifa and catches it, though Bonden is killed in the fight.
