Quick recap

While Lestat sleeps, David Talbot asks Armand for his story. Armand was born Andrei in late-15th-century Kyivan Rus and painted icons in a monastery. Kidnapped, he ends up in a Venetian brothel, where Marius buys him, names him Amadeo and turns him to save his life. Santino's coven burns Marius's palazzo and takes Amadeo, who becomes Armand and leads the vampires under the Cemetery of the Innocents in Paris. In the present, he survives the sun after Memnoch, badly burned, and is saved by Sybelle and Benji, two mortals he comes to love. At the end, Marius turns them both, because Armand never would. Armand is furious.
