Quick recap

In Paris, David Talbot asks Pandora to write her story. She was born Lydia, into a senatorial family in Augustus's Rome. When her family is destroyed, she flees to Antioch and runs into Marius, whom she knew as a child and who is now a vampire. He gives her his blood, and the two become keepers of Akasha and Enkil. Pandora drinks from the queen too. After centuries together, a fight splits them up. The story moves through Dresden and other places to the present. The book closes back in the present, with Pandora finishing the account David asked for.
