Quick recap

Thorne, a Norse vampire, wakes after centuries in the ice and seeks out Marius to understand the past. Marius tells his life story: druids kidnap him to be their new god of the grove, he escapes to Egypt, finds Akasha and Enkil and brings them to Rome. He turns Pandora, splits with her after a fight and, centuries later, rescues the boy Amadeo in Venice, who becomes Armand. Marius lives through the Black Death, Florence and Dresden, up to Akasha's awakening and the alliance against her. In the present, at a jungle hideaway, Marius wants revenge on Santino for taking Armand. Maharet forbids it. Thorne kills Santino with the Fire Gift and gives Maharet his own eyes as penance.
