Quick recap

Tarquin "Quinn" Blackwood, heir to an old swamp family near New Orleans, has been shadowed since childhood by a spirit called Goblin. Turned by force by the vampire Petronia, he seeks out Lestat because Goblin has turned dangerous. Quinn tells of his childhood, his family and his love for Mona Mayfair. Julien Mayfair's ghost warns him not to turn Mona. Lestat spots Quinn's link to the Mayfairs and calls in Merrick. She learns Goblin is the spirit of Gawain, Quinn's twin, who died days after birth and envies everything his brother lives. Merrick performs a ritual with the baby's body and carries the spirit with her into the afterlife. Lestat is heartbroken.
