Quick recap

A brutal killer is terrorizing the Pacific Northwest, and local police, suspecting something supernatural, call in Anita and Edward. The crimes bear the mark of the Harlequin, the feared vampire group that serves the Council, and the victims include weretigers and officers. Edward suspects it is all a setup to lure Anita toward the most dangerous vampire they've ever chased. Far from St. Louis and most of her lovers, Anita works alongside Marshal Olaf, whom she distrusts, and has to decide who to trust. More police case than the books before it, with violence and sex scenes.
