Quick recap

Los Angeles, 2005. Now with the FBI, Cross is on vacation with his family when a famous actress is shot outside her Beverly Hills home. A Los Angeles Times editor gets an email describing the killing in detail, signed Mary Smith, and more victims follow, including a producer and a TV anchor. Cross zeroes in on Mary Wagner, a maid who pretends the three children she killed years ago are still alive, and she is arrested. But the evidence points elsewhere: Michael Bell, who calls himself the Storyteller, killed his wife and others and framed Mary. After a car crash and a fight, Cross kills Bell. Mary takes her own life in custody. Christine gives Cross custody of Ali, and he feels something has to change.
