Quick recap

Three British agents die on the same day, in New York, New Orleans and the Caribbean island of San Monique. Bond learns that drug lord Mr. Big, who runs a chain of Harlem restaurants, is a disguise for Dr. Kananga, San Monique's dictator. His plan is to hand out two tons of free heroin to hook the public and wipe out the competition. Kananga relies on the tarot readings of Solitaire, who loses her psychic gift after she sleeps with Bond. Bond escapes crocodiles, a speedboat chase through the Louisiana bayous and Sheriff J.W. Pepper. At the lair, he forces Kananga to swallow a compressed-gas pellet, and the villain inflates until he bursts. On the train, Bond dispatches Tee Hee. In the last shot, Baron Samedi sits laughing on the front of the train.

  2. Behind the scenesThe croc farm owner did the jump

Ross Kananga, who owned the crocodile farm used as a location, did Bond's jump across the animals himself; one tore his trousers. The villain Kananga is named after him.

  3. Behind the scenesA film without Q

Q doesn't appear: the producers felt gadgets were taking over the series. It's the only film of the classic era without the character.
