Quick recap

In 1986, Bond and agent 006, Alec Trevelyan, raid a Soviet chemical weapons plant. Trevelyan is executed and Bond escapes. Nine years later, with the Cold War over, assassin Xenia Onatopp steals a helicopter hardened against electromagnetic pulses. Soon after, the Severnaya station in Siberia is wiped out by GoldenEye, a satellite that fires EMP blasts. Programmer Natalya Simonova survives. The new M, who calls Bond a dinosaur, sends him to St. Petersburg, where he learns the head of the Janus crime syndicate is Trevelyan, alive and scarred, out to avenge his Cossack parents, betrayed by the British. After a tank chase and an armored train, Bond and Natalya reach the hidden base in Cuba. Trevelyan falls from the antenna and is crushed when it collapses.
