Quick recap

A paralyzed Chaol arrives with Nesryn in Antica, on the Southern Continent, to seek healing at the Torre Cesme and the khagan's support in the war. Healer Yrene Towers, who hates Adarlan, agrees to treat him. Chaol must face his guilt and anger, and the two fall in love. Nesryn flies with Prince Sartaq's ruk riders and runs into spiders tied to the Valg. She finds that her power can drive out the Valg and saves Princess Duva, who is possessed by one. Chaol walks again, but his healing is bound to Yrene's magic. She learns that the stranger who paid for her journey years ago was Aelin. In the end, Chaol and Yrene marry, and the khagan sends armies north.

  4. ReferenceRead The Assassin's Blade first

Maas recommended reading The Assassin's Blade before this book, because characters from Celaena's past appear here. She also said that, given how much it reveals, it counts as a main book, not an extra.
