Aedion and Lysandra defend Terrasen, Manon tries to unite the Crochan and Ironteeth witches, and Dorian goes after the Wyrdkeys. Aelin is freed and heads north. The Thirteen, Manon's coven, sacrifice themselves to bring down a witch tower, and Gavriel dies defending the gates of Orynth. Aelin kills Maeve, and Dorian, Lysandra, Elide and Yrene defeat Erawan.
