Quick recap

Two years after Las Vegas, Stu is marrying Lauren in Thailand and swears there will be no bachelor party. He invites his friends to the wedding, and Alan tags along. After beers around a campfire, the three wake in a run-down Bangkok hotel: Stu with a face tattoo, Alan with a shaved head, a monkey in the room and the bride's younger brother, Teddy, missing. The wedding is hours away. Same structure, new scenery. Phil, Stu and Alan have to piece the night together again, this time in a city they don't know.

Hidden details

  1. Behind the scenesThe tattoo artist had three actors

The Bangkok tattoo artist was first given to Mel Gibson. The cast objected and Todd Phillips dropped the idea. Liam Neeson shot the part instead, but the scene was cut by accident in post. Nick Cassavetes redid the role.

  2. Behind the scenesRepeating the formula was their choice

Bradley Cooper said the cast talked about changing the structure and decided against it. They felt they hadn't yet "earned" a break from the mold. That's why the sequel has a ticking clock, a lost night, a missing person and a wedding waiting.

  3. CameoThe chapel owner returns as a club owner

Bryan Callen played the Las Vegas wedding chapel owner in the first film. In the second he comes back as a different character, a nightclub owner in Bangkok.
