Side Jobs gathers stories published in anthologies from 2006 to 2010, arranged in series order and spanning Fool Moon to Changes. There are short Harry cases, like a threatened wedding and a day off gone wrong, and stories told by other characters: Thomas narrates "Backup" and Marcone narrates "Even Hand." It closes with the new novella "Aftermath," told by Murphy and set right after Changes, as she and Harry's allies deal with what's left in the city while searching for a missing person.
