Quick recap

Leonard comes home early from the North Sea to surprise Penny. Penny quits the Cheesecake Factory to go all in on acting and lands a part in a cheap horror movie, Serial Ape-ist 2. Sheldon gives Amy their first real kiss on Valentine's Day. Raj meets Emily, a dermatologist, and finally has a girlfriend. James Earl Jones takes Sheldon out for a night on the town. Throughout the season, Sheldon loses faith in string theory and feels stuck. In the finale, Leonard and Penny announce their engagement, Sheldon can't handle so much change and leaves town on a train, leaving Amy heartbroken.
