Quick recap

The first twelve Holmes short stories, printed in The Strand in 1891 and 1892. They include "A Scandal in Bohemia", with Irene Adler, the only woman to ever get the better of Holmes, "The Red-Headed League", about an ad that pays to copy an encyclopedia, and "The Speckled Band", about a snake in a locked room. Each story is a closed case, with Watson narrating and Holmes laying out the reasoning. They are the easiest, and most read, way into the detective.
