Quick recap

France, 1813. Sharpe is sent with Colonel Brand, a war hero the newspapers love, on a mission to destroy a large French powder store. Something feels off from the start: Brand is too bold, too lucky, and Sharpe starts to wonder whose side he's on. The mission turns into a game of suspicion, with the spy Ducos nearby, Sharpe's men caught in the middle and Jane far away, bored with life away from the war. It's a story created for TV, with no book behind it, and it settles the question of Brand by the end.
