Quick recap

In 1878, Tessa Gray comes to London at the invitation of her brother, Nate, and is kidnapped by two warlocks, Mrs. Black and Mrs. Dark. They force her to use a gift she never knew she had: taking the shape of anyone whose belongings she holds. Will Herondale and Henry Branwell rescue her and bring her to the London Institute. Disguised as the vampire Camille, Tessa goes with Will to a party at de Quincey's and meets Magnus Bane. Mortmain, helped by Nate, is revealed as the Magister and attacks the Institute with automatons. Her clockwork angel pendant protects Tessa, who fakes her own death to drive Mortmain off and decides to stay.
