Quick recap

At the Sanctuary, Saori is hit by a golden arrow and has only twelve hours to live. To save her, the Bronze Saints must cross the twelve zodiac temples, each guarded by a Gold Saint, and reach the Pope. The fire clock goes out hour by hour. Some Gold Saints let them through, others fight to the end. Shiryu, Hyoga and Shun nearly die in fight after fight, and Ikki arrives to face Virgo Shaka. At the top, the Pope turns out to be Gemini Saga, a man split between good and evil. Seiya uses Athena's shield to remove the arrow, Saori wakes up, and Saga takes his own life in front of her.
