Quick recap

The Pope of the Sanctuary brands the Bronze Saints traitors for fighting in a private tournament. He sends the stronger Silver Saints to take the Sagittarius Cloth and kill Seiya and his friends. One by one, the hunters fall. Against Perseus Algol, whose shield turns everything to stone, Shiryu blinds himself so he can't see Medusa and wins without his sight. Seiya learns that his teacher, Marin, has secrets of her own, and Ophiuchus Shaina hunts Seiya because he saw her face. By the end it's clear that whoever rules the Sanctuary wants Saori dead. She decides to go to Greece and face the Pope.

Hidden details

  1. ReferencePerseus in reverse

In the myth, Perseus beats Medusa by watching her reflection in his shield. Here it is the other way around: Perseus Algol wields the Medusa shield, and Shiryu blinds himself so he won't look.

  2. ReferenceThe mask rule

Female Saints wear masks. If a man sees one of their faces, she must either kill him or love him. That is what drives Ophiuchus Shaina after Seiya.

  3. Behind the scenesCloths inspired by sexy robots

The look of the Cloths came from Sexy Robot (1983), a book by illustrator Hajime Sorayama. Before that, Kurumada's heroes fought in school uniforms.
