Quick recap

Langdon is called to Washington for a talk, supposedly by Peter Solomon, a 33rd-degree Mason. At the Capitol, he finds Peter's severed hand. The kidnapper, Mal'akh, wants Langdon to find the Masonic Pyramid and the Lost Word. With Inoue Sato's CIA on his tail, Langdon flees with the Architect of the Capitol and later with Katherine Solomon, Peter's sister and a noetic scientist. Mal'akh nearly drowns Langdon in a tank. At the House of the Temple, he reveals he's Zachary, Peter's son, and asks his father to sacrifice him. The CIA helicopter smashes the skylight and the glass kills him. The Lost Word turns out to be a Bible buried in the Washington Monument.
