Quick recap

Mare is a prisoner in the palace, in Silent Stone shackles that cut off her lightning. Maven parades her on TV and forces her to lie about the Scarlet Guard. He marries Iris, a Lakelands princess, to seal an alliance. Meanwhile, the Guard and Cal take Corvium. At the wedding, the rebels attack and Evangeline frees Mare. Mare and Cal escape and admit their feelings. Evangeline's family breaks off to form its own kingdom, and Cal's grandmother backs the rebels on one condition: Cal must be king. After the victory at Corvium, Cal accepts the crown. Mare walks away from him, crushed, and goes along with Farley's plan: let the Silvers destroy each other.
