Quick recap

In Skandia, Will and Evanlyn are made slaves. Will is drugged with warmweed, which wipes out his will and memory, and Evanlyn slowly weans him off it. The two escape to a mountain cabin. Meanwhile, Halt insults the king on purpose, is banished for a year and sets off across Gallica with Horace. Horace makes a name for himself as the Oakleaf Knight. The two end up captured by Deparnieux, a cruel knight of Castle Montsombre. At the end, Halt and Horace watch a not-so-accidental fire that is about to bring down the castle tower. At the cabin, Will is himself again, and a rider dressed in furs appears nearby.
