Quick recap

After the Indigo League, Professor Oak sends Ash to pick up a strange Poké Ball, the GS Ball, from Professor Ivy in the Orange Islands. Brock decides to stay with Ivy, and Pokémon Watcher Tracey joins Ash and Misty. Ash rescues and catches a Lapras, which becomes the group's ride, and also catches a Snorlax. He takes on the Orange League, wins the four island badges and nurses a frozen Charizard, which starts obeying again. In the final he beats Drake in a six-on-six battle and wins the first title of his career. Lapras returns to its family, and the group heads back to Pallet Town, where Brock shows up again.
