Quick recap

Ash travels to Unova with his mom and Professor Oak, and Pikachu loses its power after an encounter with Zekrom. He meets Iris, a girl who wants to be a Dragon Master and travels with an Axew, and Cilan, one of the Striaton City Gym Leaders and a Pokémon connoisseur. Ash starts from scratch with only Pikachu: he catches Pidove, Oshawott, Tepig, abandoned by a Trainer, Snivy, Sewaddle and more. He gains a cold rival, Trip, who treats him like a rookie. He earns Unova's first three badges. Team Rocket arrives with a more serious tone, carrying out secret missions for Giovanni.
