Quick recap

Forty years ago, a boy named Sam saves Celebi from a poacher, and the two travel through time to the present, where they meet Ash, Misty and Brock. The Iron-Masked Marauder, a Team Rocket agent armed with Dark Balls, captures Celebi and turns it into a monster made of forest. Ash, Sam and forest guardian Diana climb the creature and remind Celebi of their friendship, and it breaks free. Drained, Celebi seems to die, but other Celebi arrive through a portal and bring it back. Ash and Pikachu take down the villain, and Sam returns to his own time. At the end, a detail hints at who Sam grew up to be.
