Percy Jackson is a high-school senior, but there's a catch: New Rome University won't take someone who, under the pact of the three eldest gods, was never supposed to exist. Zeus makes an exception, with conditions. Percy has to complete three quests and earn a letter of recommendation from each god. Poseidon runs an ad for his son's services, and Annabeth and Grover volunteer to help. The first job comes from Ganymede, Zeus's cup-bearer: the chalice of immortality is missing, and he needs it back before the other gods find out. The search goes through the usual suspects and ends somewhere unexpected.
