Quick recap
Filler arc. The Three-Tails surfaces in a lake, and Konoha races to find it before the Akatsuki do. On the other side are Guren, a crystal-style ninja working for Orochimaru, and Yukimaru, a boy forced to control the beast with pills that cause him pain. Kabuto pulls strings behind the scenes, uses the spy Rinji, and then gets rid of him, hinting that Orochimaru is preparing for war. Guren, who started out using Yukimaru, comes to care for him and crystallizes herself to shield him. Tsunade calls the teams home, convinced the beast can't be caught without Yukimaru. Then Deidara and Tobi reach the lake and capture the Three-Tails. Yukimaru loses the power to control it.
