Boruto and Mitsuki infiltrate Hōzuki Castle, a prison, to protect Kokuri, a defector from the Mujina Bandits. Between tests, stolen medical passes and escape plans, they take on Tsukiyo, one of the gang's leaders, and get away by boat. Later, Boruto becomes bodyguard to Tento, a feudal lord's son. Shōjōji, the Mujina boss, attacks, and Boruto's mark reacts. With Tento fighting beside him and Sarada and Mitsuki arriving, Boruto defeats Shōjōji, who, once in custody, reveals that the mark is the symbol of an organization called Kara. Episodes 152 to 156 are standalone filler.
