Quick recap

1993. Charlie, his friend Mike and their fathers, Cap and Hiro, are hunting cryptids in the Pacific. They rescue Annie, a girl adrift at sea, but a tentacled monster, the Kraken, sinks their boat and kills Hiro. The survivors wash up on Skull Island. Annie has a giant doglike creature named Dog and is being hunted by mercenaries led by Irene, who funded the trip and turns out to be her mother. Mike hides a serious wound. To leave the island, they have to get rid of the Kraken. Charlie uses a necklace Kong keeps in his temple, a keepsake from a girl he once protected, to lure Kong to the beach. Kong kills the Kraken, and Annie wakes up two weeks later in a hospital with Irene.
