Quick recap

Colonel Bantry and his wife, Dolly, wake to find a strange blonde dead in the library at Gossington Hall. Dolly calls her friend Jane Marple. The dead girl seems to be Ruby Keene, a dancer at the Majestic Hotel in Danemouth, whom wealthy invalid Conway Jefferson meant to adopt. Then a burned-out car turns up with the body of a Girl Guide, Pamela Reeves. Marple spots the switch: the body in the library was Pamela, dressed as Ruby, and Ruby died later, in the car. The killers are Mark Gaskell, Jefferson's son-in-law, and Josie Turner, Ruby's cousin, secretly married. They wanted to stop the adoption and keep the inheritance.
