Quick recap

For once, Mickey Haller agrees to prosecute: it's the retrial of Jason Jessup, convicted 24 years earlier of kidnapping and killing a girl and freed by a DNA test. Haller's condition is that he picks his team. He brings in his ex-wife, prosecutor Maggie McPherson, and his half-brother, Harry Bosch, as investigator. Everything rides on Sarah Gleason, the victim's sister, whose childhood identification the defense attacks. Haller lets Jessup out on bail and has him tailed. His visits to parks and trails make Bosch suspect Jessup is a serial killer. Mid-trial, Jessup opens fire on his own lawyer and others, flees and is killed by police.
