Quick recap

At a traffic stop, a cop finds the body of a former client, Sam Scales, in the trunk of Mickey Haller's car. Haller is charged with murder and decides to represent himself, with his team and Bosch helping. In jail, he's nearly killed in an attack, and his ex-wife, Maggie McPherson, joins the defense. The investigation ties the killing to subsidy fraud at a biodiesel refinery and points to Louis Opparizio, a businessman Haller humiliated in an earlier trial. The victim was a federal informant, and Opparizio set it all up for revenge before his own partners killed him. Prosecutors drop the charges in exchange for Haller's silence. Days later, as the pandemic hits, a gunman tries to kill him.
