Full story
Fisk rules New York under martial law, and the Anti-Vigilante Task Force hunts anyone in a mask. Matt Murdock is back in action as Daredevil, starting with a raid on a ship bringing military weapons for the mayor's operations. He rekindles his romance with Karen Page and gathers allies to resist. Karen works undercover, spreading Fisk's propaganda while gathering intel. Reporter BB Urich runs an anonymous online account attacking the mayor. On the government side, a CIA operative known as Mr. Charles makes sure the vigilante trials go ahead without interference.
Heather Glenn, now part of Fisk's administration, still carries the trauma of her abduction and starts faking evaluations for prisoners such as Jack Duquesne. Angela del Toro, Hector Ayala's niece, recovers the family amulet and becomes the new White Tiger. Matt breaks into the Red Hook prison and frees detainees. Meanwhile, Dex, aka Bullseye, learns that Vanessa manipulated him into killing Foggy and wants revenge.
At a charity boxing event where Fisk is fighting, Dex crashes in and hurls a glass piece at Vanessa. Fisk tries to knock it away, but a shard hits her in the head. Matt gets Dex out before Fisk can kill him. Vanessa seems to improve in the hospital, then dies. The loss strips away whatever humanity Fisk had left, and he grows more violent.
Karen is arrested and put on trial. Matt defends her and puts Fisk on the stand, armed with evidence of the weapons smuggling. When Fisk threatens to expose Daredevil, Matt beats him to it: he tells the court, and the world, that he is Daredevil, so he can testify as a witness against the mayor. Karen walks free. The governor and the attorney general move to remove Fisk from office. Matt's supporters storm City Hall, and Fisk, in his white suit, turns to violence.
Matt takes on Fisk with allies, including Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and the new White Tiger. In the end, Fisk takes a deal: he renounces his citizenship and goes into exile instead of facing prosecution. The Task Force is dismantled and its members arrested. The win does not last. During a quiet moment with Karen, Matt hears sirens and is arrested for crimes tied to Daredevil. The season ends with Fisk alone on a faraway beach and Matt behind bars, his identity now public.
