Quick recap

Five years later, Mr. Miyagi travels to Arlington National Cemetery for a commendation honoring Japanese-American soldiers of World War II. In Boston he meets Julie Pierce, the granddaughter of his old commanding officer, an angry teenager since her parents' deaths. Miyagi becomes her caretaker. At school, Julie faces Ned and the Alpha Elite, a security club Colonel Dugan trains to use force. Miyagi takes her to a Buddhist monastery, where he teaches balance and respect for life. On prom night the bullies attack her friend Eric, and Julie takes on Ned. Miyagi defeats Dugan, and the Alpha Elite abandons him.
