Quick recap

Typist Sheila Webb is sent by her agency to a house in Crowdean. There she finds a dead man in the sitting room, surrounded by clocks all showing the same wrong time. The owner, Miss Pebmarsh, is blind and swears she asked for no one and doesn't own those clocks. Nobody knows who the dead man is. Colin Lamb, a secret service agent on the street hunting spies, takes an interest in Sheila and brings the case to Poirot. The detective solves most of it from his armchair, just reading and listening. The answer is simpler than it seems: neighbor Mr Bland killed the man with an accomplice, and the clocks were pure distraction.
