Quick recap

At a literary lunch, a woman asks Ariadne Oliver to find out the truth about her goddaughter, Celia. Years ago Celia's parents, General Ravenscroft and his wife, Margaret, were found shot dead near a cliff, and nobody ever knew who shot whom. Oliver calls Poirot, and they seek out the elephants: older people who remember those days. They learn Margaret had a mentally ill twin sister, Dolly, who killed Margaret. To protect the family, the general helped Dolly take her sister's place and later, by agreement with her, died alongside her. Celia learns the truth and can marry in peace.
