Quick recap

Sera, now the Primal of Life, returns with Nyktos to rule beside him, but Kolis is still a threat. They try to build a new way to govern, sharing power with the other Primals, and agree to a one-month truce with Kolis. The truce doesn't hold: Kolis attacks Lasania, and the loss drives Sera into a rage she later has to face. Allies pick sides, enemies fall, and the war reaches a final clash in which Kolis is subdued and bound with the bones of the Ancients. But the Star, holding Sotoria's soul, is missing, and the Fates warn that the threat has only been delayed. The epilogue spans centuries and links the prequel to Poppy's story.
