Quick recap

For centuries the malakim, scholarly angels, quietly watched over humanity. In the 20th century, modern weapons and pollution pulled Earth away from the seven heavens, so they asked for help from the exiles already living among humans. The mission: join the wars disguised as soldiers and report everything. Denyel belongs to this squad of angels of death, from the Allied invasion of Europe in World War II, through the Nazi death camps and the jungles of Indochina, to the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Many didn't want to kill, but they had orders. Meanwhile, in the present, Kaira, Urakin and newcomer Ismael set out to rescue Denyel, lost in the river Oceanus after the battle of Athea.
