Quick recap

Sucked through a time portal, Ash lands in the Middle Ages with his car, shotgun and chainsaw. Taken for a spy, he becomes a hero by killing a Deadite and gets a mission: fetch the Necronomicon to get home. But he forgets one magic word and raises an army of the dead. Now Ash must lead an entire castle into battle. It's the trilogy's most adventurous and jokiest film, full of lines that became the saga's trademark. This is where the "Hail to the king, baby" Ash is born, with the car, the metal hand and the shotgun.

Hidden details

  1. Behind the scenesThe original ending was different

In the planned ending, Ash drinks seven drops of the potion instead of six and wakes up in a ruined London. Universal found it too bleak, and the film got its upbeat theatrical ending.
