Quick recap

Long before Gru, a tribe of Minions is looking for villains to serve. Among them are James, who loves drawing and telling stories, his friend Henry, and Ed, who is deaf and uses sign language. In 1927 they stumble onto a Hollywood film set and become silent movie stars. When talkies arrive, nobody understands their language, and the tribe gets fired. James decides to make his own movie, Minions & Monsters, and uses an old spell book to summon real monsters. Little Goomi offers to help but secretly wants to unleash Irene, a giant monster, to destroy the world. With help from Dort the robot and the rest of the tribe, the Minions beat Irene and finish their movie.
