Quick recap

On Themyscira, Hippolyta's Amazons have lived apart for millennia. When Ares threatens to push Man's World into nuclear war, the gods call for a champion. Diana wins the contest against her mother's wishes and heads to America with pilot Steve Trevor, without speaking English. In Boston she gets help from professor Julia Kapatelis and her daughter, Vanessa. Diana fights Ares's sons and, in the final showdown, uses the lasso of truth to show the god that nuclear war would destroy everything, himself included. Ares backs down. After that, Diana faces the Cheetah and trials set by the gods of Olympus, and starts to be seen as a hero.
